About

Annie Samuel is a medical student and creator.

She currently attends Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine to become a practicing Foot and Ankle Surgeon. Originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, she has ties to both the North and South making her adaptive since childhood. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Biology and Medicine & Society through the Honors College at the University of Houston (UH). Annie attended UH with the Tier One Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship, which she is humbled and exceptionally grateful for, and will contribute to in a few years. She also received the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Metropolitan Scholarship. Prior to medical school, she pursued her Master of Public Health degree. She enjoys working with the veteran population and kids. She admires the resilience and fortitude of these groups and aspires to be an advocate for better care. She has special interests in trauma, limb salvage, nerve preservation, and research. As a third year student, she is seeing patients in clinic.

While at TUSPM, she participates in research with focus on forensic research and gait analysis. She has several publications (abstracts and freelance writing). She believes in hard work and grit. She holds the position of manager of the Front Desk and greet students, faculty, and visitors. She is the Vice President of ACPM at TUSPM, the Secretary of the Running Club, and the Treasurer for Student Council 2024. She spends her time volunteering at Best Foot Forward providing foot care for the homeless population of Philadelphia and as a volunteer at her church, Freedom Philly. Annie has attended the APMA conference supported by a scholarship from the APMA. She shares her mentorship and leadership for the rising students. She has written for The APMA Footnotes.
